Every time I step out of a hotel or a restaurant, there are drivers right there. But instead of talking to them, I look at my phone and say I already have a booking. Two reasons: I do not want to negotiate, and I want the destination to be clear. What if we solved those two things and used the driver who is already standing there?
A pre-booked app sends another driver across town to reach you, at his own expense, and it is a waste for the environment when a driver is already in front of you.
